Carolina Weather Group

The Carolina Weather Group is a weekly Web show that covers weather, science, technology and more for the North Carolina and South Carolina as well as other areas in the Southeast. The show’s hosts interview newsmaking experts in meteorology and other fields of atmospheric science in an informal relaxed way.​

Created in 2014, the show strives to be an educational resource and open forum for breaking weather topics.As well an informative place to receive vital information before major storm systems move into the Carolina’s.  It can be seen live every Wednesday evening at 8p ET on YouTube. Meet the panelist:

    • Ricky Matthews: is the weekend morning meteorologist at News 5 WCYB. Ricky graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he got his Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. Follow Ricky on Twitter: @WCYB_Ricky
    • Scotty Powell: is a consultant meteorologist for The Foothills Weather Network. Scotty works one on one with local Emergency Management offices in Western North Carolina as well as conducting day to day forecast for the organization.     • Shea Gibson: is a meteorologist and wind forecaster for WeatherFlow, Inc. Professionally he offers seasonal forecasts on multiple products and mobile apps such as WindAlert, SailFlow, iKitesurf, iWindsurf and FishWeather. He also actively assists with new weather station projects with local and regional support through consumers and their public/private partners.
