SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR POSSIBLE THROUGH MIDNIGHT
EST. THE HEAVY SNOW WILL RESULT IN ROADS QUICKLY BECOMING SNOW
COVERED AND SLICK. VISIBILITIES WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED TO
LESS THAN A QUARTER OF A MILE AT TIMES. TRAVEL IS DISCOURAGED
ACROSS THE REGION TONIGHT AS CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO RAPIDLY
DETERIORATE THIS EVENING.

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER LOUISIANA WILL INTENSIFY AND MOVE
RAPIDLY NORTHEAST TO PENNSYLVANIA ON WEDNESDAY. SNOW ASSOCIATED
WITH THIS SYSTEM WILL OVERSPREAD OUR AREA FROM SOUTH TO NORTH LATE
THIS AFTERNOON AND BE HEAVY AT TIMES THIS EVENING INTO TONIGHT.
TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS BY MIDDAY WEDNESDAY ARE ANTICIPATED TO
GENERALLY BE IN THE 6 TO 10 INCH RANGE WITH THE HIGHEST AMOUNTS
ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE HIGHWAY 24 CORRIDOR. SNOWFALL RATES OF 1 TO
1.5 INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE WITH GREATLY REDUCED VISIBILITIES
THIS EVENING INTO TONIGHT. FARTHER NORTHWEST SNOWFALL AMOUNTS
SHOULD GRADUALLY TAPER TO 3 TO 6 INCHES ACROSS NORTHWEST INDIANA
AND FAR SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN.
IN ADDITION...NORTH WINDS WILL INCREASE AND LIKELY CAUSE
SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW TO DEVELOP LATER
TONIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO MIDDAY WEDNESDAY...ESPECIALLY IN OPEN
AND RURAL AREAS...PRIMARILY AFFECTING EAST TO WEST ROADWAYS.
TRAVEL WILL BE DIFFICULT...INCLUDING DURING THE WEDNESDAY MORNING
COMMUTE ACROSS THE REGION. INTERSTATES 65...69...75 AND 80 WILL BE
IMPACTED. PRIMARY ROADS INCLUDING...6 24 30 31 AND 33 WILL BE SNOW

The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center has issued a Mesoscale Discussion regarding heavy snow, with rates of one to two inches per hour possible.
